Mis
Padres Y Yo
Mis Padres y Yo is an innovative program that offers parent-and-child-together
workshops for infants, toddlers, and their parents. The play-and-learn
workshops support cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language
development for infants and toddlers. Mis Padres y Yo aims to increase
parents’ knowledge of ways to stimulate their infant/toddlers’
growth in the natural home environment, while also supporting the
bond between parent and child.
The Mis Padres y Yo series involves six workshops that address a
different theme during every session. The workshops also offer a
supportive environment that encourages parents to share their parenting
joys and challenges. The workshops serve as a network to support
parents’ efforts to fulfill their parental roles. Workshops
are held at a variety of workshop locations including El Centrito’s
early learning sites, and schools located throughout the Oxnard
Elementary District. We strive to serve families with young children
throughout the Oxnard community.
Workshop topics include: infant massage, essential touch, parent/child
communication, safety at home, basic child development, nutrition,
and creating nurturing a home environment that helps children learn
& grow.
